It could be Marfan — rare illness tough to diagnosis

Do you know a child who has a racing heart? Perhaps a tall child, with long fingers? A youngster who can do extraordinary things with his or her joints? Maybe that child has Marfan syndrome. Jennifer Holland, vice president of the Twin Cities chapter of the National Marfan Foundation, says she was lucky to be diagnosed at birth. But many people affected by Marfan are not so fortunate…Holland, Michelle and her mother all attended the 25th annual National Marfan Foundation conference in Rochester Aug. 6-9 -- the first time it has ever been held at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
