Healthy, wealthy and wise

By Kelley Luckstein

In this new world of the ever-vanishing corporate perk, the executive physical, that comprehensive check-up prized by decision-makers because it spares them time-consuming waits in doctors’ offices, remains popular…

At the Cleveland Clinic in Florida, Dr. José M. Muñiz, an internist who runs the hospital’s program, acknowledges the field may have taken a slight hit in the economic downturn, but it’s still very much in demand…

Likewise, the Mayo Clinic, another leader in the field, reports no major decrease. “With the changes in health care that have already happened and the changes still to come, our program fills a need for busy executives,” says Donald D. Hensrud, M.D., chair of the division of preventative medicine, whose program draws some 6,500 executives yearly. “Each year, we’ve seeing more patients than the year before,” says Hensrud, adding that the program is tracking to increase this year as well.
