Mayo Vaccinates Employees and Volunteers

By Kelley Luckstein

Mayo Clinic health officials spent the day Tuesday vaccinating employees and volunteers in one of the areas first mass vaccination events.

Associate Administrator for Out Patient Practice, Michael Schryver, said the vaccinations would protect Mayo employees who have direct contact with sick patients. "They are at some risk if they're dealing with people who do have the H1N1 influenza as well as the fact that because of the pandemic effect, the number of patients that have H1N1, we need to be able to keep our staff well in order to care for patients," Schryver says.
