The much acclaimed Mayo Clinic, which is situated in Minnesota, recently came up with its list of 10 most healthy foods that should be consumed in order to ensure a healthy and disease free lifestyle.
The list comprises of sweet potatoes, apples, blueberries, spinach, broccoli, almonds, vegetable juice, wheat germ, salmon and red beans. Katherine Zeratsky, dietitian associated with Mayo Clinic, has emphasized that these food items contain a large amount of vitamins, antioxidants, minerals and several other nutrients that are extremely important for maintaining good health and to counter any ailments. Moreover, the food items are essentially low in calories, which would enable the list to be helpful to even weight-conscious people. She also added that the heath benefits of foods featured in the list are immense as they also contribute in reducing heart ailments and various other health diseases.
