Brittany Murphy, a 32 year old actress, has been pronounced dead due to a cardiac arrest.

Cardiac arrest in the young is typically rare, and most often occurs in those with congenital heart disorders, or users of illegal drugs such as cocaine or amphetamines. There are also other conditions that can result in fatal heart arrhythmias in young people…

There are many risk factors for experiencing cardiac arrest, according to the Mayo Clinic, including a family history of CAD (coronary artery disease/clogged arteries), high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, diabetes, and a lack of exercise.
