Olmsted County, Mayo Clinic urge support for bypass

By Kelley Luckstein

Olmsted County and Mayo Clinic leaders urged state legislators on Tuesday to back funding for a southern rail bypass because of the economic implications.

Dr. Glenn Forbes, the clinic's medical director for state government, told members of the House Commerce and Labor Committee visiting Rochester that the rail bypass is critical to the continued success for the clinic. He said about half of the clinic's patients come from outside of the state.
