Lawson purchase of health care software maker could be a shot in the arm

Lawson Software said Thursday it has agreed to buy privately held Heathvision Solutions of Dallas for $160 million in cash, giving the St. Paul-based software maker entry into the growing market for information systems that are supposed to make health care more efficient….

 

This is the plumbing to allow that communication to occur," said Jim Catalino, general manager of Lawson Healthcare. As an example, he said the Mayo Clinic, a Lawson customer, has more than 600 different applications that must work together.
