Dr. Eric Wieben, co-director of The Minnesota Partnership for Biotechnology and Medical Genomics, said the program's success is a result of Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota teaming up.
"Mayo and the University of Minnesota realized about five years ago that we couldn't compete in the global marketplace as well individually as if we really tried to join up and pool our talent and work collectively to develop new types of therapies and ideas," he said.
