Mayo Clinic is interviewing candidates and hopes to announce a new diversity director in early February, a clinic official said.
The new director will work closely with Linda Matti, administrator for diversity for Mayo Clinic, to implement Mayo's strategic plan for diversity systemwide, Matti said.
Mayo Clinic President and CEO Dr. John Noseworthy announced the new position on Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
