More than 42 million American women live with or are at risk for heart disease, and obesity is a leading risk factor threatening women’s heart health. WomenHeart Champions are women living with heart disease who are trained at WomenHeart’s annual Science & Leadership Symposium at Mayo Clinic to become community educators, advocates, support network leaders and national spokespersons in the effort to raise awareness about heart disease as the leading cause of death in women.
