Mets Shortstop Jose Reyes Is Diagnosed With Overactive Thyroid

New York Mets shortstop Jose Reyes has an overactive thyroid and will miss spring training until additional tests are completed…

 

An overactive thyroid produces too much of the hormone thyroxine and can accelerate the body’s metabolism, causing sudden weight loss and a rapid or irregular heartbeat, according to the Mayo Clinic’s Web site.
