Mayo researchers find key Alzheimer’s gene

Researchers at Mayo Clinic Florida have found a gene that either helps protect against development of Alzheimer’s disease or promotes it, depending on the level of gene in the brain…

 

In two research studies recently published in the journals Neurology and PLoS ONE, scientists in Jacksonville found strong evidence for the role of the gene, insulin-degrading enzyme, in influencing risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
