Downtown Construction
Come Monday, getting around downtown Rochester may turn into a major headache for people commuting to or from Mayo Clinic or using the city bus lines. A $5.3 million renovation of Second Street starts Monday, and it could close down lanes and re-route pedestrian traffic for months…
"It is a huge undertaking. The project will be divided into three major stages, so that we can maintain traffic and pedestrian traffic as much as possible," said Rochester Public Works Construction Supervisor Mike Easley. The first phase of the 2nd St. renovation starts Monday and will stretch from 6th Ave. SW to 5th Ave. SW.
