Large chains favored calorie posting requirement

While many restaurant owners are not thrilled with the requirement in the recently signed health law to post calorie information on their menus and drive-through signs, their industry signed off on the plan…

 

Dr. Donald Hensrud, an associate professor of preventative medicine and nutrition at Mayo Clinic and medical editor of the New Mayo Clinic Cookbook, cited a recent small study published in the American Journal of Public Health that showed that people provided with such information ate 14 percent fewer calories.
