Q: I have been told by several people that diet sodas are not good for me. Am I endangering my health (I'm diabetic) by drinking diet soda?...
A: Drinking a can or two of diet soda a day isn't likely to hurt you, according to a posting on MayoClinic.com by nutritionist Katherine Zeratsky, R.D., L.D. "Artificial sweeteners and other chemicals currently used in diet soda are safe for most people, and there's no credible evidence that these ingredients cause cancer," Zeratsky wrote.
