Former NHSFR champion returns to McGee Park after ordeal

By

Raley Radomske looked like a normal college freshman…

She competed in breakaway roping moments earlier in the Ty Waybourn Memorial Rodeo. She has not, however, competed at New Mexico State University. That's because two July seizures sidetracked her journey toward college independence and helped doctors diagnose her with a brain tumor…

Radomske turned to a family friend, a neurology specialist at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix…

Dr. Richard Zimmerman began another surgery three days later, but her brain began hemorrhaging. The second surgery lasted about nine more hours and left her in a coma, paralyzed from neck to toe on her right side…I couldn't wait to come back down to school, I couldn't wait to have my horses back, it was like torture every single day. The Mayo Clinic is amazing, but it felt like a prison."
