Doctor works with TSA agents to save his own life at Sky Harbor

By

Dr. John Leslie got the opportunity to thank his life savers at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport Monday.

The two TSA officers rushed to his aid with an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) after he experienced a cardiac event at Terminal 4 on March 14.

Dr. Leslie is a Professor of Anesthesia at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine.

He was traveling through Terminal 4 when he suddenly felt ill and experienced cardiac distress.

TSA Officers Richard Williams and Michael LoCascio responded to Leslie, who was lying on the floor outside the A Checkpoint.

Dr. Leslie requested an AED and instructed TSA Officer LoCascio to apply it and administer a shock.

The AED machine analyzed Dr. Leslie's heart rhythm twice and on the second time administered a shock.

Immediately Dr. Leslie felt better and told the TSA officer that he'd just saved his life.
