Muve, a company created by Dr. James Levine of Mayo Clinic in Rochester, is moving ahead with more research funded by a $835,000 federal grant. The goal? Strengthen the company's battle against the U.S. obesity epidemic. More that 72 million U.S. adults are considered obese…

On Wednesday, the maker of a personal activity and weight loss device learned that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services agreed to fund research to validate Muve's Gruve device and investigate additional anti-obesity devices. Levine will lead the research, which will happen at Mayo Clinic.
