$20 million gift to Mayo Clinic will fund research-driven transformation of the U.S. health-care system. Mayo announced Wednesday that the money from benefactors Robert and Patricia Kern will be used to launch a new Mayo Clinic Center for the Science of Health Care Delivery in the clinic's Rochester Harwick Building. "The center is a manifestation of what Mayo has done well over its whole course of existence," said associate administrator Mark Hayward. Additional coverage: Star Tribune, KAAL, The Street
