The list from the Joint Commission, the leading hospital accrediting body in the country, is drawing a lot of attention not only for who’s on it, but also who is not… But Mayo Clinic wasn’t. Neither were Baptist Medical Center, St. Vincent’s Medical Center or Shands Jacksonville… The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville would only release this diplomatic statement: “We are fortunate to have many very good hospitals in our community. Providing safe, quality care is a priority for all health care providers. Quality measures vary in methodology and there are many rankings that consumers should explore as they make health care decisions.”
