Florence Novinger "Flo" Davis, a civic leader, philanthropist and widow of a Winn-Dixie co-founder, died at her home Tuesday after a long illness. She was 101. In the late 1980s, Mrs. Davis and her husband, J.E. Davis, were the driving force in getting the Mayo Clinic to come to Jacksonville, donating both the land and money.
