The minute Craig Sorby left the Mayo Clinic, he started running and hasn’t stopped. Of course, the 51-year-old Sorby took a car from his Bemidji, Minn., home to race in the half-marathon at the FM Mini Marathon on Saturday. But when it came time to run, he didn’t disappoint, finishing third in his age group just months after his life was in the balance. “On May 31, I went to the Mayo Clinic to be evaluated for some abdominal issues,” Sorby said. “A day later, I was on the operating table for 10 hours.”
