You’re Chris Norton. You’re an 18-year-old graduate of Bondurant-Farrar High School, playing football for Luther College in Decorah. The date is one year ago, Oct. 16, 2010. You break your neck and compress your spinal cord during a home game against Central College…Doctors make a grim diagnosis: about a 3 percent chance of ever having movement below the neck. They call for a helicopter to fly you to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., for emergency surgery on your mangled neck.
