When Paula Loomis found out she had breast cancer, she confronted the disease with blunt directness, optimism founded in faith and a sense of humor…There's no scientific proof that a positive attitude gives a patient an advantage in cancer treatment, writes Dr. Timothy Moynihan, a cancer specialist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., on Mayo Clinic's website.
