Little everyday changes in what you eat and how much you move can make a big difference in reducing your risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.… A lack of physical activity is also a risk factor, as is diet, said Dr. Donald Hensrud, medical editor of the Mayo Clinic Diabetes Diet. "The independent effects of those are not as great as weight. Weight is the strongest risk." That means a lot of Nebraskans and Iowans are at risk of developing diabetes.
