Health regulators are investigating a rare but potentially serious problem with a newer class of heart stents that causes the tiny tubular devices made of wire mesh to shrink, or lengthen, after implantation…Dr. David Holmes, a cardiologist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, said there have been enough reports of problems that this should be examined closely. "Someone needs to put the cases together and look at them and decide about the signal of adverse events," he said. "This absolutely warrants more study."
