Drug shortages hit local health providers

By

The Chippewa Valley isn't immune to a national drug shortage that is forcing doctors in some locations across the U.S. to reschedule surgeries…Mayo Clinic Health System is working to ensure it has the appropriate drug supplies to treat its patients, spokeswoman Susan Barber Lindquist said. "We work directly with manufacturers to stay abreast of potential production and supply problems," she said. "We collaborate with Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., as well as other Mayo Clinic Health System sites, to share supplies, (and) in our community, we also work cooperatively with other local health care providers to share medications if needed."
