500 gather in Lake City for vigil to fallen officer
"We gather here with so many hearts, so full. Some hurting. Some so angry. Some still shocked. We pray that you come here and meet us face to face, God. ... As we pray for comfort for Shawn's family, for the police officers, for this community, come and wrap your arms around us." Those were the words of a community prayer held at the beginning of a candlelight vigil Wednesday night in downtown Lake City for police officer Shawn Schneider, who was still in critical condition in Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester after being shot Monday morning while responding to a call about a domestic dispute.
