Mayo Clinic poured hundreds of millions of dollars into building projects this year, creating a ripple effect that should benefit the Rochester community for years. That made Mayo's building boom the top health and business story of 2011…In February, Mayo announced that it generated $515 million in income in 2010, and that it would "invest in our future by investing in our core facilities," chief administrative officer Shirley Weis said.
