Research Indicates Popular Cholesterol Drug May Cause Diabetes,

According to new research, the class of cholesterol-reducing medications known as statins may lead to a significantly elevated risk of type II diabetes in middle-aged and older women. However, experts say this doesn’t necessarily mean that people at risk of heart disease should stop taking them…“Each person deserves a careful risk versus benefit assessment,” said Ma’s colleague and co-author Annie Culver, from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
