The Mayo Clinic Biobank has surpassed 20,000 participants — and has plans to expand. Medical data of southeast Minnesota residents is among some of the most-studied in the nation… "We now have been given funding from Mayo leadership to 30,000 in 2012," said project director Janet Olson. The Biobank is in discussions to possibly increase that number to 50,000, said Olson, an epidemiologist. But the biobank won't start a push for new participants yet.
