ASU’s Downtown Treadmill Desks Help Students and Staff Take Healthy Steps

With the treadmill stopped, Rick Hall straddled the platform and increased the speed on the control panel.  As the belt started moving, Hall, a senior lecturer at Arizona State University's School of Nutrition and Health Promotion, placed his leather slip-on shoes onto the slow-paced treadmill … The treadmill desk was created by Dr. James Levine, an endocrinologist at the Mayo Clinic who discovered that people who move around more during the day tend to be fitter than those who remain sedentary.
