Indy Super Cure: One woman’s story inspires many to act

The first time Traci Runge tried to donate tissue to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Tissue Bank at the IU Simon Cancer Center, she was turned away because she had not preregistered. But Runge persisted…Four years later, it was -- and Runge became the first person who had donated healthy breast tissue to the bank to subsequently give cancerous tissue as well…"It has been a ground-breaking development in breast cancer research to have this resource," said Dr. Amy Degnim, a breast surgical oncologist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
