Obama administration announces funding goals for Alzheimer’s research

The Obama administration announced it will provide $50 million for Alzheimer's disease research, directing money in general research budgets toward the effort. President Obama plans to include another $106 million toward Alzheimer's research and family caregiver support in his 2013 budget…At the announcement press conference was Dr. Ronald Petersen, chairman of the Advisory Council on Alzheimer's Disease Research, Care and Services for the National Alzheimer's Project Act and director of the Mayo Clinic Alzheimer's Disease Research Center in Rochester.
