The Mayo Clinic Board of Trustees, a 31-member group of public representatives and Mayo doctors and administrators, has announced its 2012 officers. On Friday, the board named Bill George, former chairman and CEO of Medtronic Inc., to a two-year term as an external trustee. George is an author and professor of management practice at Harvard Business School. Dr. Steven Buskirk, radiation oncologist at Mayo Clinic in Florida, was named to a four-year term as an internal trustee.
