Kidney transplants are often successful operations. Unless a patient gets an organ from an identical twin, medications are necessary so that the body doesn’t reject the new organ. Doctors are Mayo Clinic are looking at ways to grow organs from a patient’s own stem cells. It is called regenerative medicine and it offers hope for a solution to organ rejection.
