The Hennepin County Medical Examiner announced Thursday that Gary Tinsley, the standout Gophers football player who was just weeks away from graduation, died naturally of an enlarged heart earlier this month. The 22-year-old was set to graduate and pursue a career in the NFL when his roommate found him unresponsive in the dorm the two shared. According to the Mayo Clinic, having an enlarged heart isn't a disease. Rather, it's a symptom of another condition that can be treated if it's caught soon enough.
