A formal agreement that will transfer the title of Mayowood from the History Center of Olmsted County to Mayo Clinic was signed today by executives of both organizations. The agreement commits Mayo to spending up to $3 million for repairs, restoration and maintenance of Mayowood, the home built by Dr. Charles W. Mayo in the hills southwest of Rochester. "This preserves Mayowood as a resource for the community to keep it open for the community to appreciate our remarkable heritage," said Dr. John Noseworthy, Mayo CEO, during the ceremony at the Plummer Building.
