An announcement by Robin Roberts has had a ripple effect across the country. Many people are now talking about bone marrow donations. This morning, the Good Morning America anchor said she has a rare disorder called Myelodysplastic Syndrome, or MDS. She will need chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant…"If people do not have that, then we move on to what's called an unrelated donor; meaning just a person in the nationwide database that may have a close genetic match that would be applicable to the patient," said Mayo Clinic Health System's Dr. Sandeep Basu…Additional coverage/Mayo mentions: CNN.com, Huffington Post, KERO Bakersfield, Baltimore Sun, Atlantic Wire, KAAL TV
