Mayo Clinic Study Targets Cause of SCAD

By

Dr. Kristen Plastino-Arnold was 41 and fit when, loading the car after her son's Little League game a year ago today, she suddenly had a massive heart attack…She and more than 250 other patients across the country, many of whom found each other online, have come forth and released their medical records to researchers at the Mayo Clinic who are trying to determine the causes of SCAD and the most effective treatment for it. The innovative research reflects the power of social networking and patient advocacy to open new doors in understanding rare disorders.
