Cancer survivor now mentors to patients

By

“On July 19, 2010, at 3:31 p.m., I became a number,” says Ricky Rinehart. Rinehart, a 54-year-old southwest area manager for Time Warner Cable, remembers well the day he received the news that he had cancer of the esophagus, down to the minute… He spent the next few days educating himself. He learned that Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale is at the forefront of treating esophageal cancer… Minimally invasive esophagectomy is still considered an innovative method, and Rinehart is mentoring other people about to receive this treatment.
