Mayo Clinic in Phoenix ranked as one of nation’s best hospitals

The Mayo Clinic in Phoenix was rated as one of the best adult hospitals in the country and two other area facilities received national recognition in U.S. News and World Reports’ annual rankings, which were KTAR-FM News Logoreleased Tuesday. The website ranked the nation’s top 50 hospitals in 16 specialties. Those results were used to create an overall honor roll of the nation’s 20 best hospitals for 2018-19. The Mayo Clinic was ranked No. 1 overall in Arizona and cracked the national honor roll, tied for 11th. It was No. 20 in last year’s rankings. The facility earned national recognition in 11 specialties and was among the top 10 three times, in gastroenterology and GI surgery (No. 5), pulmonology (No. 5) and geriatrics (No. 6).
