Mayo Clinic plans 500 solar panels for downtown

Mayo Clinic announced Monday morning that it plans to undertake "the largest solar energy project in southeast Minnesota."Beginning this summer, about 500 solar panels will be installed on the roof of Mayo Clinic's Damon Patient/Visitor Parking Ramp in downtown Rochester, the clinic said…

 

"As we evaluate possibilities for renewable energy sources at Mayo Clinic, we try to anticipate our needs and the needs of the community. This solar project is a good fit for both," said Donald DeCramer, chair of the Mayo Division of Architectural/Engineering Design Services.
