About 18 football players from the new United Football League have been in Birmingham this week. The reason: To have surgery or rehabilitate with Dr. Larry Lemak, the UFL's medical director.
Lemak, a renowned orthopedic surgeon at Lemak Sports Medicine, coordinates medical coverage and physicians and trainers for the league, which kicks off tonight. The Mayo Clinic helps with physicals and clearing players.
