For the first time in days, Howard and Mandy Lacy have hope.
Their 2-year-old son, Cody, may be able to get the surgery he needs.
Cody was born with a bone disorder called fibrous dysplasia, which affects his right forearm. The toddler needs surgery to repair his limb — something his parents thought they could get at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
Then the Fremont couple learned that after Jan. 1, Mayo will no longer accept Nebraska Medicaid patients due to low reimbursement rates…
But Lacy called Boys Town, which contacted the Shriners organization.
