Mayo Clinic cancer biologist Alan Fields’ pioneering work in cell biology of lung cancer may pave the way for a new drug treatment for cancer.

Fields and his team at Mayo Clinic Florida were the first to discover the abnormal gene responsible for lung cancer development in earlier research. With that gene identified, he has been able to progress his research to testing potential treatments.
