Mike Sheehy goes from San Diego to P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon – on foot

By Kelley Luckstein

Forrest Gump

crossed the country side on his Nikes simply because he felt like runnin'.

By Sunday, Mike Sheehy will have run past 44 cities in 17 days mostly because he had purpose. About 32,000 runners are coming in planes, trains and automobiles for this weekend's seventh annual P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon and ½ Marathon…

"We're not just running," Sheehy said from his Phoenix hotel room Wednesday night, as he poked through boxes of goodies he will hand out at a local Mayo Clinic and children's hospital the day following his run.
