Mayo Health System goes regional
Mayo Health System is working to cut costs and improve care at its regional health centers by having them share resources and "best practices." MHS has 800 doctors at regional hospitals and clinics within 120 miles of Rochester.
"With 12 separate organizations we've become quite successful over the years striving for common quality measures and safety measures and so on, but still we have kind of 12 of everything in Mayo Health System," MHS CEO Dr. Peter Carryer said. "We have 12 information technology systems, 12 billing systems, 12 really of all business functions."
