For southeastern Minnesota, this state bonding bill is a bummer. There were nearly $100 million in area requests -- but only $2 million funded, under Gov. Tim Pawlenty's $685 million bonding recommendation.
The governor unveiled his bonding proposal Friday at the state Capitol -- a prelude to the Minnesota Legislature's start on Feb. 4. His proposal was $40 million lower than expected. "The whole economy is going through the worst challenge it has since World War II," Pawlenty said.
