Minnesota's statewide rail plan took another step toward completion Wednesday with a public hearing conducted simultaneously at 16 locations across the state…
"We like the fact we're included in the plan," said Mayo Clinic spokesman Tim Geisler. Mayo lobbied for Rochester to be included as a stop on a high-speed line connecting Chicago to the Twin Cities. Mayo also advocates a railroad bypass, around the south side of Rochester, to re-route trains from the Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern Line through downtown.
